2nd Dromara is a Christian Church, where people have been worshipping God since 1844. We are one of 545 congregations, right across the island of Ireland, which comprise the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. (If you're confused about this word "Presbyterian", it comes from a word meaning "elder", and describes how our church is run - by elders, including the "Minister", who are all chosen by us).
At the centre of our services and weekly activities is God's word the Bible - listening to its message and asking for God's help to "live it out". That's because we believe that God speaks to us today by His word, just as He has done throughout the centuries. The key to what the Bible teaches has to do with God's Son Jesus. We believe that God sent His Son Jesus into the world. Jesus came to show us what God is like. Jesus also came to forgive us for living our lives without God, when we turn to Him and trust in Him.
To glorify the one and only true God and extend the Kingdom as we point people to Jesus and their need for a personal faith in him as their Saviour and Lord.
To be a welcoming church family:
where ordinary people come together to worship God and our extraordinary Saviour and Lord, Jesus Christ
that seeks to honour and serve Jesus, not just on Sundays, but every day in everything we do
that makes, grows and nurtures disciples, encouraging them and enabling them to share their faith with confidence
that reaches out to people of all ages and backgrounds in the wider community to demonstrate the compassion of Christ.
As a friendly church family, you will find people of all ages and backgrounds, if you come to visit us. It has been especially encouraging to see a growing number of young people and families make 2nd Dromara their church home. That's all very well and good, but it's hard to welcome you from a screen! The best thing to do is to come along and join us some Sunday: 10.30 am.
You'd be very welcome!
